There are a broad variety of fish offered to the marine aquarium hobbyists. They come from hundreds of species along with come in all shapes and sizes. In spite of this, there are a few fishes that are stable best sellers all year round. Listed below are some of the most popular marine ornamental fish offered today.

At the top spot, we have the familiar amphiprion ocellaris in addition to amphiprion percula. They represent the most popular as well as recognizable saltwater fish for sale in the industry. They have even been represented on the big screen as the star of the hit animated feature, Finding Nemo. However, to most saltwater enthusiasts they are simply known as the false percula and the true percula.

They look almost completely alike with the difference being the number of dorsal spines present. The cheapest species between the two is amphiprion ocellaris. The pricier specimen between the two is Amphiprion percula as less are collected. They are a top choice for those just starting out as they adjust well to life in a saltwater aquarium.

Next, we have the Yellow tang and Blue Tangs. Both tangs are commonly seen on marine products along with posters. The blue tang also had some air time on the animated movie, Finding Movie. Dory, the clumsy blue fishes in the movie was a blue tang. Yellow tangs are usually more expensive than blue tangs.

If treated for any diseases or parasites present, they are regularly top selections for any saltwater aquarium. Like Ich and lateral line erosion are the two conditions all tangs are susceptible to. Ensure they are given a diet that is rich in greens as they are algae grazers in the wild.

Four members of the Pomacanthidae family are depicted here as well. They are the dwarf flame angelfish, French angelfish, emperor angelfish along with the stunning queen angelfish. They are always in demand by some marine hobbyist or another. In terms of price, they cost the most compared with the other fishes mentioned. Excluding the flame angelfish, the rest can go for some hundred in particular if they are large and in good condition.

Flame angelfish are the cheapest angelfish of the bunch. But that does not reflect on its beauty as it is easily on of the most stunning members of the family centropyge. All angels should be given a mixed diet rich with meaty and plant based foods. They can nip as well as consume a diversity of corals plus clams so avoid putting them in aquariums full of corals. - 31514
